Johannesburg, 25 October 2024 – The South African Endurance Series (SAES) recently amped up the motorsport world with the official launch of the much-anticipated Nine Hours of Kyalami at the chic Tempo Luxury Restaurant in Sunninghill. Hosted by motorsport enthusiasts and presenters Clauie-Grace Mpanza and Prince Ndiweni, the launch event was a grand precursor to the main attraction set for November 29-30, promising to be a top-tier event on South Africa’s motorsport calendar.

From the onset, SAES CEO Wayne Riddell and Chairman Xolile Letlaka—who doubles as the founder of Into Africa Racing—set the stage by underscoring the cultural impact and global presence the Nine Hours of Kyalami is cultivating. Their passionate addresses reflected on the evolution of endurance racing in South Africa, positioning the Nine Hours of Kyalami as a pinnacle event on the world motorsport stage. Riddell’s message was clear: “The Nine Hours of Kyalami is a celebration of passion, resilience, and the spirit of motorsport.”


Adding a strong endorsement from the government, Deputy Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture, Honourable Peace Mabe, commended SAES for creating an event that champions South African talent while driving tourism and economic growth. Mabe’s presence, alongside Motorsport SA CEO Vic Maharaj, highlighted the government’s support for motorsport's growing significance in South Africa.

The Nine Hours of Kyalami is more than just a race—it's a fully immersive experience for motorsport fans and families alike. There’s a dedicated Kids Zone, equipped with jumping castles, face painting, and balloon artists, to keep younger attendees entertained. For families craving a bit of friendly competition, a go-kart track will allow fans to test their racing skills against one another.

One of the event’s most exciting new features is the innovative Virtual vs. Real competition. Over 100 SIM racing teams will compete in tandem with live racers on the Kyalami track, providing a unique challenge that blends virtual and real-world racing. This pioneering competition offers fans an interactive gateway into motorsport, bridging generations and creating a dynamic, inclusive atmosphere.

SAES is offering a range of ticket options to suit all fans:


  • Public Access Tickets for Friday’s round five race are priced at R150.

  • Fan Zone Tickets for Saturday provide all-day access for R450.

  • VIP Tickets at R1,750 include exclusive paddock access and meals.

  • For those seeking the ultimate experience, the Private Lounge at Tempo Restaurant offers elite views, grid walk access, and exclusive hospitality.
